Wendy Ray

Wendy is Director and founder of Hands of Compassion School since its start in March 2000. She has had a varied career within the Education Department, assessing children with special educational needs and then later as Training Manager, before culminating in becoming a Management Development Consultant within the Local Authority and also for Henley Management College.

Wendy lived in Zambia for three years, where she set up the school and is fully committed to driving forward Hands of Compassion as a charity.

Sue Algeo

Sue Algeo is a retired teacher where with past experience  running the International Baccalaureate programme. She is a Lay Reader at her local church and on the Court of The Worshipful Company of World Traders , a City Livery Company where she also sits on the Education Committee. Her love of all things African springs from the two years she spent teaching in Kenya as a VSO.

Kate Hart Dyke

Kate is a full time primary school teacher and Maths specialist.  She was previously a qualified nurse, changing career after her third child went to school.  She is also the secretary of her local Parochial Church Council.  Her Junior class have supported Hands of Compassion School in the past and Kate would like to extend this to the wider school and Church community in Africa.

Carolyn Asplin

Carolyn is a career Banker and has spent 35 years in a variety of Leadership roles spanning operational management, personal banking and for the past 20 years has specialised in Commercial banking. An active member of her local Church, Carolyn has served on the Parochial Church Council and also spent 10 years as a Governor of her local primary school.  Carolyn has Africa in her blood with strong family links to Southern Africa and visits regularly,.
