Wendy Ray
Honorary Director and Chair of Trustees

Wendy is Director and founder of Hands of Compassion charity since its start in March 2000. Her career included assessing children with special educational needs and then later as Training Manager, before becoming a Management Development Consultant.

Wendy lived in Zambia for three years, where she set up the first school and is fully committed to driving forward Hands of Compassion as a charity.

Wendy was awarded the Mwape Peer Educational Excellence Award in 2020 as recognition of her valuable work with orphaned and vulnerable children in Zambia.

Rev Philip Denison

A past teacher in secondary education both in the UK and a short time in the Caribbean, Philip trained to become a priest in the Anglican Church and is a Vicar of a Parish in Somerset.

Francis Tamba

Born in Zambia, Francis followed his mother’s passion to help the many orphaned children who had little or no education.
In 2005 Francis moved to UK with his family and since then, he has worked in the commercial sector, as well as continuing to be active in his local church.
